The new Batgirl design has been often credited to Cameron Stewart OR Babs Tarr but rarely to the both of them. The design process was in fact a collaboration with both artists contributing to the final design.
Cameron: When DC first approached me about taking over Batgirl as…
Every time I see the new Batgirl I get that bit more excited about the comic, can’t wait to see the new direction. And I have got to get me some of those boots!
This downloadable, shareable, and printable poster has two parts. On the left side, you’ll see six classroom scenes that show a necessary 21st-century skill that teachers are developing through their instruction with the help of the standards. All six of these skills lead to 21st-century success—and can be found embedded in various lessons and activities at every grade level.
The right side of the poster shows where these classroom paths lead: to three top skills that employers say students will need to be college and career ready. (Research shows that college and career readiness is the #1 topic of interest to parents when discussing the standards.) So this poster shows exactly what parents want to see—how teachers are preparing students for 21st-century success.
And here’s my treatment on Iggy the Mouse, who I hope you all got the reference as being from the ‘Sonic and the Silicon Warriors’ book from way back when!
Points to Jamie J (the wonderful writer behind the tale) for that one as I’d forgotten about her, oops! I loved that book too.
Thought you might like to see the art from ‘Mouse Compatible’ without lettering. Hope you enjoyed the story (and my art), it was fun to experiment with the two different styles.
Everything was sketched and inked digitally on my Sony Vaio Flip using Manga Studio 5 and then the “real” world was also coloured in there too. The digital realm was coloured in Photoshop and the 3D backgrounds were all built in Autodesk Maya.
Then everything got composited in Photoshop along with a few finishing touches (plus lettering) before being ready to go!
Sonic the Comic #264 Launch!
9th July 2014
We’ve just launched the latest issue of Sonic the Comic!
Featuring four far-out tales starring Sonic, Chaotix, Blaze, and Amy!
So we launched our latest issue of STC last week, yay! Apologies for the delay, I’m pretty sure there will be fewer gaps between issues from now on though! (famous last words…) ;)
Even features some art from me for the first time in ages too, hope you liked the way I represented the digital realm vs. the “real” world.
I’m assuming at least someone figured out where Iggy comes from, right?
And #264 also featured the next chapter in my Blaze tale! It’s all coming to a head now she’s locked up in the Order of Magick’s lair!
BEHOLD! THE MISTAKE OF GOD!
Aka, for the first time anywhere… KEN PENDERS PITCH TO SEGA FOR A SONIC MOVIE!
Words cannot describe the level of fail on display here. Is this really what he backstabbed the late and great Ben Hurst for?
Oh heck, never thought I’d be glad we didn’t get a Sonic movie during my childhood…
Hopefully SEGA will avoid anything like this for the new movie and just go to the games for inspiration, not feature Earth or actual humans. Just brightly coloured anthropomorphised animals and chequered hillsides, as the Echidna Gods intended.
Amstrad Mega PC.
Retro Madrid gaming con. April 26th, 2014.
Here’s something you don’t see every day! They used to advertise this in early issues of Sonic the Comic a lot, but I can’t imagine a lot of people had one.
Who’d have one of these and has two thumbs? THIS GUY! So many fond memories of playing Sonic, just as soon as my dad had finished writing his very important word document! ;)
I remember desperately wanting one of these after seeing the advertisements in STC. Seemed like the perfect device for work and play!
Alas, I had to stick to using the Mega Drive and wait a little while longer before getting a PC (and longer still before I got one capable of playing Sonic!).
Is there a way to view the HTML without seeing all the coding?
